Strategies to increase and maintain enrollment and success of diverse and at-risk students in Advanced Placement French Language & Culture
The College Board Equity and Access Policy:
"The College Board strongly encourages educators to make equitable access a guiding principle for their AP programs by giving all willing and academically prepared students the opportunity to participate in AP. We encourage the elimination of barriers that restrict access to AP for students from ethnic, racial and socioeconomic groups that have been traditionally underserved. Schools should make every effort to ensure their AP classes reflect the diversity of their student population. The College Board also believes that all students should have access to academically challenging coursework before they enroll in AP classes, which can prepare them for AP success. It is only through a commitment to equitable preparation and access that true equity and excellence can be achieved."
La Classe de Français
We know that a copy of the class syllabus and other important class information can be found at http://alexander.dch.schoolinsites.com, in the teacher’s section. A full copy of the syllabus and class procedures is also available at www.madamesundberg.wikispaces.com. We have read and understand the complete syllabus. We also understand that the school will send progress reports home throughout the school year. We also know that the teacher will attempt to contact us because of low averages (F) and/or because of discipline problems. After initial contact is made by the teacher, we will contact the teacher each time we want an update. We know that we may contact the teacher by calling 770-651-6056 or emailing her at Rebecca.Sundberg@douglas.k12.ga.us any time we have a question or concern. We also know that we can monitor our student’s progress online through Infinite Campus.
