French 1 Cultural Project You will choose a topic for your presentation and a date for when to present this topic. You will be responsible for having your paper and presentation prepared and ready by the due date you are assigned. (Come see me to sign up for an available date. First come, first serve.) This project will be in collaboration with your 9th grade English class. The Cultural Projects assigned will be about a French region or Parisian monument/place. Below are the items that need to be included in the paper and verbal presentation. Written Portion: You will write a 1-2 page paper about your topic. This paper will be written in English. You need an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The rough draft is due on September 12th. The final draft is due on September 27th. You will turn this paper in to your English teacher. In the body: If your topic is a FRENCH REGION, I need to know: The history of the region = body paragraph 1 The geographical location and lay-out of the region = body paragraph 2 What this region is known for (food, wine, tourism, …) = body paragraph 3 Two more interesting facts about this region = body paragraph 3 If your topic is a MONUMENT OR PLACE IN PARIS, I need to know: The history of the monument = body paragraph 1 The location and description of the monument = body paragraph 2 The importance and/or interesting facts of the monument to people today = body paragraph 3 Additional Requirements: (You are working on the written assignment in your English class for the month of September.) The paper must be typed: 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, one inch margins. It must have a cover page with: first and last name, period, teacher, and the date of your presentation.
